The Rosebery, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park

If you are looking for extremely fine pastries and elegant presentation then this might be the place for you.

As soon as I walked into Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park I was struck by this grand floral display and beautiful scent.

The original hotel in the Group, The Mandarin, opened in 1963, when it was then the tallest building in Hong Kong. The Oriental followed in 1974 in Bangkok.

You can take Afternoon Tea in The Rosebery lounge where you can find what is called The Mandarin Cake Shop. I really like that feeling of little boutique shops within hotels.

Here is my Skinny Cappuccino — you can see the Group’s renowned fan logo is even on the coffee.

I had showed them a picture of the Earl Grey macaron but this comes only with the Afternoon Tea, so they brought this mini strawberry tart instead, which had lovely fine ingredients.

You have a view of Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge opposite.

Other stand-out features of this hotel include The Spa, the two Michelin-starred Dinner by Heston Blumenthal restaurant, and Japanese izakaya restaurant The Aubrey.

Dog stays

The dog stay package includes stylish William Morris dog bed in the suite and a luxury goodie bag to keep. Note though for dining areas dogs are permitted in The Aubrey restaurant only and only at weekends. You can find information on dog packages here.
