The CafĂ© at Foyles Charing Cross Road đź“•

The Café at Foyles Charing Cross Road has long been known as a great place to meet.

I hadn’t been in recent years, but I was seeing the new musical Opening Night, with music written by Rufus Wainwright — which I loved, and popped in. The cafĂ© space on Level 5 is really large, it was relaxed, and the food and cakes and pastries all looked great.

I had this houmous and red pepper focaccia. I got an Orange Sanpellegrino too as it was a hot day but actually this contains sugar so I would choose something else next time.

I find the atmosphere in the café and throughout the whole store very pleasant; friendly and literary but not overwhelming. As it was a Bank Holiday weekend I went back on the Monday and had this frittata with side of marinated broccoli. It was absolutely lovely, and I need to emphasise the generous size of this frittata mountain!

They don’t have Skimmed Milk so both times I’ve had a black coffee which has been a nice accompaniment to the meal.
